Savuti - Khwai Trail

 Botswana
$2,460 / Person

Overview

The Savuti (Savute), Khwai Concession, and Moremi Game Reserve trail in Botswana offers a premier safari circuit through the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. This itinerary combines three distinct ecosystems: Savuti’s semi-arid marshes and predator-rich plains (~2,600 km² in Chobe NP), Khwai’s lush riverine floodplains (~200,000 hectares, community-managed and private reserves), and Moremi’s pristine Delta heart (~5,000 km²), famed for diverse wildlife (lions, leopards, wild dogs, elephants, buffalo, hippos, 400+ bird species). Together, they deliver intense game viewing, with Savuti’s dry-season elephant herds, Khwai’s mokoro trips and night drives, and Moremi’s lagoon-dotted wilderness. Best in dry season (May–October, peak in October for elephant migrations); rainy season (November–March) risks muddy tracks but lush scenery.
